Professor and Chair of Materials Theory
Nicola A. Spaldin (*1969), currently Professor and Director of the International Center for Materials Research at the University of California in Santa Barbara (USA), was appointed as Full Professor of Materials Theory.
Nicola Spaldin has won several awards for her research in the field of coupling magnetic and electric material properties. Spaldin’s combination of basic research results with new, modern computing and simulation methods is particularly successful. These pave the way for the discovery and development of new materials.
